Bernard Madoff was carted of to jail to serve a life sentence after milking investors out of $65 billion dollars yesterday, and avoided a trial by simply pleading guilty. The New York Post profiles some of the victims in Madoff's scam. Maureen Ebel lost her entire fortune of $7.3 million dollars because of Madoff, whom she trusted. If there's a moral to this story, I guess it is to always know where your money is going and never be too trusting of anything that sounds too good to be true as Madoff advertised above average returns on his investments.

Dave Bing In A 29 Year-Old Mix-Up!
Detroit mayoral candidate Dave Bing spent yesterday answering questions about a 29 year-old discrepancy regarding when he graduated from Syracuse University. Bing has always claimed that he graduated in 1966, when in reality he officially received his degree in 1995. The discrepancy regarding the dates is tied to an incomplete that Bing received in a business course. Bing, who is new to the political game, having become a NBA Hall of Famer and successful businessman in the Detroit area, also stated that he received an MBA from Kettering University, when he did not receive one.
Bing has to understand that all political candidates are responsible for any previous statements that have been made that prove to be false. The citizens of Detroit have to decide if these misstatements ultimately lead to his demise as the future mayor of Detroit. Thanks to the Detroit Free Press for the article.
I'm Not The One!
While TMZ.com was reporting that Chris Brown's manager Tina Davis was the person who sent the text message that has put Chris Brown and Rihanna in an unbelievable firestorm, the New York Daily News reports that Davis is denying any type of intimate relationship with the 19 year-old singer. Davis' attorney Marshall Grossman issued the following statement:
"The relationship between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown is that of manager and client." "There has never been any other relationship. The rumors in circulation are false."
Meanwhile Brown has removed his name from consideration for an award at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards airing March 28.

Michelle Obama Inspiring Others To Get Fit!
Our new first lady Michelle Obama has no problem baring her arms in public as she show how confident she is of her toned figure. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that others are being inspired by Mrs. Obama, and reports this quote by Jennifer Smith, a fitness and sports director at the High Ridge YMCA in Rogers Park:
TRICEPS EXTENSION: Position your dumbbells (5 pounds or more) overhead with both hands under the weights in a heart-shaped grip. With elbows overhead, lower the forearm behind the upper arm by flexing your elbows. Flex your wrists at the bottom to avoid hitting the dumbbell on the back of neck. Raise the dumbbell overhead by extending your elbows while hyperextending your wrists. Return and repeat.
The purpose of this exercise it to work all three heads of the triceps at different stages of the movement. Keep the arms and elbows close to your waist. Hold the dumbbell in a neutral position and extend forearm back as far as possible (using the elbow as a pivot point). Do not move the arm. Repeat for two sets of 12 repetitions.
Fitness tip: To maximize results, slow it down and count backward 4-3-2-1. This requires the muscle to work harder and tone faster.
Hold the weights comfortably in your hands your with arms at your sides. Keep your elbows tucked firmly against your body and slowly raise the weights up to your shoulders, keeping a neutral wrist, and then lower. Repeat for three sets of eight to 10 repetitions.
TWO VARIATIONS ON BICEPS CURLS:Hammer curl: Start with the weights in your hands at your sides, palms facing each other. Bending your elbows, lift the weights up almost to arms; slowly lower. Repeat for two sets of 12 repetitions.
Angled biceps curl: Hold your weights in your hands with elbows tucked against the body. Angle your arms slightly out to the sides; slowly raise and lower the weights. Repeat for two sets of 12 repetitions.
Michelle Obama's arms are attractive because they are toned enough for you to see the muscle distinction but not to the point that it takes away from her femininity." "This proves that women can do weight training exercises and reach their desired results without bulking up." Smith also recommends the following exercises and says that results can be seen in 21 to 30 days:

Is Tina Davis The Other Woman?
The Chris Brown/Rihanna relationship has captured national attention over the last month. Everyone from Oprah to Donal Trump has advice for Rihanna. Yesterday brought news that the woman who allegedly sent the 3 page text message that sent Rihanna into a tailspin is non other than Tina Davis, Brown's soon to be 40 year-old manager. A Brown/Davis relationship has long been rumored, but denied by all parties involved, however, Los Angeles police reported that the text message was from someone with whom Brown had a previous sexual relationship. TMZ.com broke the Davis side of the story, and E! News reports that Brown and Rihanna have even been recording a new single being produced by Polow Da Don in Santa Monica, CA according to the New York Post.
Well Oprah will dedicate tomorrow's show to domestic violence in honor of Rihanna. Too bad that all of this isn't a publicity stunt, and I hope Rihanna is not living what will soon become a nightmare.

Is The House Burning?
President Barack Obama has been in office less than 2 months and the stock market is down roughly 20% since that time, which is probably to be expected as it's been losing value since the middle of last year when George Bush was in office. While our president is trying to fix the economy, he's also trying to solve the issues of health care, education and any other issue that was a campaign promise. Bill Clinton began his presidency in a similar manner, trying to solve all of the problems of the country at once. Here's hoping that President Obama will gain his footing and attack one issue at a time, and the economy is clearly Issue Number 1 Mr. President! I hope that he realizes that the rooms of the house aren't important if the foundation is falling.
D-Wade For MVP!
Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat put on one of the greatest individual performances in recent NBA memory last night as he led the Miami Heat to a 130 - 127 win over the Chicago Bulls in double overtime, while scoring 48 points and dishing 12 assists. Wade stole the ball from John Salmons, and zoomed down court to hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer. Wade, who is leading he league in scoring has moved himself into the MVP conversation with Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. He's clearly compartmentalizing any of his personal issues and playing some of the best basketball of his carer.

Kimora and Djimon Married?
The New York Daily News is reporting that Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou were married last summer in Hounsou's native, Benin, Africa. The only problem is that the marriage is not legal in the United States since Kimora wasn't officially divorced from Russell Simmons until January 28, 2009. Well congrats to the two love birds on their nuptials, anyway.
Morris Brown College In "Crisis Situation"!
Morris Brown College President Stanley Pritchett tells the Atlanta Journal Constitution the the historically black college located in Atlanta is in a "crisis situation." The school recently had one of it's building auctioned off for $900,000, has another bill due on an exorbitant water bill, is $30 million in debt and has less than 200 students on campus. The college, which lost it's accreditation in 2003 is badly in need of a stimulus package. Here's hoping that President Pritchett can keep the struggling college viable, as our black colleges are struggling in these economic times.
